Membership
$45 per semester.
Create an account with your UNC email (@unc.edu or @kenan-flagler.unc.edu), verify it, then pay dues. That makes you an official member: events, treks, recruiting dinners, workshops, and the Recruiting Terminal.
- Create or sign in with your UNC email.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you, or send a one-time subject code from that same UNC Outlook inbox if the code never shows up.
- Pay $45 on Zeffy with that same email — skipped if already paid this semester.
- Open the Terminal from the header when you're a member.
When a new semester starts, you stay signed in and keep your saved data — you just renew dues to reopen the Terminal.

Common questions.
Do I need prior finance experience to join?
No. UFS is open to any UNC undergraduate, any major, any level of experience. Our education sessions start from the fundamentals, and most members joined knowing very little about the industry.
Is there an application to join UFS?
No. UFS itself has no application: create an account with your @unc.edu or @kenan-flagler.unc.edu email on Join, verify it (email code, or send a one-time subject from that Outlook inbox), pay dues, and you are a member. The seven subsidiary clubs run their own application cycles, but general membership is open to everyone.
I'm a freshman. Is it too early to join?
It is the best time to join. Finance recruiting starts earlier every year, and freshmen who show up to events, learn the basics, and meet upperclassmen have a significant head start when sophomore programs and junior summer recruiting open.
Do I have to be a UFS member to apply to the subsidiary clubs?
Yes. You must be an active UFS member to apply to any of the seven subsidiary clubs. Join UFS first (UNC email, verification, and dues), then apply through each club's own application cycle.
What exactly do the $45 dues cover?
Every UFS event for the semester: technical workshops, corporate info sessions, recruiting dinners, treks, socials, plus the 700+ member chat and the weekly newsletter with internship postings and curated resources.
Does membership carry over between semesters?
The roster resets each semester, so dues are paid every semester you want to be active. This keeps the member chat and events limited to people who are actually engaged. If you already have a Terminal account, your saved data stays; you just pay again to get back in.
The verification email never shows up in my UNC Outlook. What do I do?
Campus Outlook often accepts the message (Resend will even say “delivered”) but never shows it in your inbox. On the verify step, send a new message from that same UNC Outlook to the address we show, with the exact subject code. Stay on the Join tab — it unlocks when that mail arrives. Kenan students can also request the code at @kenan-flagler.unc.edu. If you are still stuck, email neil_shah@kenan-flagler.unc.edu.
I already paid on Zeffy, but nothing unlocked. What do I do?
Sign in with the same UNC email you used on Zeffy (@unc.edu or @kenan-flagler.unc.edu), then tap “I've paid — check now” on the dues step. Payments usually match within a minute. If it still doesn't unlock, email neil_shah@kenan-flagler.unc.edu with (1) your UNC email and (2) your Zeffy receipt or confirmation — we'll link the payment manually.
